Support it is what is needed for anyone going through 'coming out as Gay or Trans Gender Fluid or whatever'
If it was my Son or Daughter I would support them through everything ,even if I might struggle .It is not a choice to be Gay or Transexual ..I know some people think it is a choice . I didn't choose to be heterosexual .That is the way I was born :-D
When I was a little girl we had two ladies who lived next door (this is back in the late 50's) they were just 'friends' but were Lesbians .No-one batted an eyelid .They were just Miss Macfarlane and Miss Jackson.( I can say names as they are long gone now)
Everyone is entitled to live their lives without prejudice .

Ahem, Bob. Try sticking a roll of cotton wool in a cardboard tube up your urethra. Different body orifices!!

Blimey, you lot have got me laughing, I love the sense of the ridiculous you all have. A thought struck me, if tampax are so absorbent, why waste money on tenalady. Just a thought. And Sharron, I love it when you talk dirty!
And perhaps we should refer to being RR'd as being "no platformed" And bfore you ask, I know about tenalady from watching telly in the afternoons. Do they do a tenabloke?

Looking again at Jane's post.

What she says enforces what I said I think. If nobody felt it their place to pry and poke into anybody elses sexual orientation and preferences, then a lot of problems would be alleviated.

I recall reading on here once about a man who was arrested and fined,I believe, for gaining some sort of sexual pleasure from his own bicycle, in his own room. What business is that of anybody?

By all means, help and support people who encounter problems brought about by the way they are dealing with are dealing with their orientation but it is only the problem that is your concern.

"No one 'suffers' alone, whatever they may sometimes feel. We are all implicated, all diminished by the suffering of others. It is the sharp recognition that no human difficulty is just their business & none of mine". (St Oscar Romero).

No they weren't the ones RR'd, Caroline, but I live in anticipation of someone objecting to lifestyles in Portsmouth in the 1970's! :-D :-D

Allan, this was years before the film - and lots of shiny plastic boots were in evidence!

Shades of 'Kinky Boots' methinks, Maggie

At the same time, I was working as the general receptionist at Portsmouth Dockyard.
This meant, all 'Dockies' wanting to see someone in power came through me.
I used to ride a bike to work - as did most of the 'Dockies'.
There was nothing so powerful as Portsmouth Dockyard leaving work through 'Unicorn Gate' on their bikes at 4:30 on a Friday. The cars came to a standstill :-D
I sometimes used to pop into a pub or two on my way home.
There was nothing so secure as walking into a pub, to be greeted by someone as big as the proverbial brick wotsit, dressed as a flamenco dancer greeting me with 'Ooh - hello Miss XXXXX'
....'And how do you know me?' was my response.
''I'm Frank, I came about Trades Union stuff this afternoon. I leave at 4 so I can get ready for the weekend' :-D :-D :-D :-D

Caroline, in response to your reply at 22:24, when I lived in Southsea, boyfriend and I had an argument in our local.
I decided to teach him a lesson, and started trying to chat up the other blokes in the pub.
They were very nice, offered to buy me drinks, etc. but they were all gay!
This was before it was an issue, this wasn't a 'gay bar', just a darned good pub (Royal Albert, Albert Road, Southsea), but I haven't been there for 40+years.
They (the blokes I tried to chat up) had heard us argue, and thought it hilarious - so did I, to be honest :-D

Sylvia, to my mind, it saves a lot of backtracking when they're older :-D

My youngest found a tampax (unused) when she was about 3.
We were just about to go out.
I told her they were rather marvellous, and put the one she'd found in a glass of water, intending to explain what they were for later - those of a nervous disposition, don't worry, most explanations go over a child's head until they're 'ready' to accept the information.
We came back, and the tampon had filled the glass :-S
I just swiftly picked it up and hid i! I had no explanation! :-S :-S :-S

I agree with Sharron.

Not any of my business, unless I can given them some support in some way.

We've had friends of both sexes who were in same sex relationships, knew of someone who had 8 children with 2 wives while enjoying cross dressing (at least when still with his first wife) ;-)

Didn't make any difference to us ............. they were still friends, some very close friends..

maggie .............. we had a neighbour who looked after my daughter until she was about 15 months old. She was talking by then, and we had always used the proper terms of body parts.

Neighbour greeted me with horror when I went to pick up daughter one day when she was about 14 months...... apparently she had referred to a part of their male dog's anatomy correctly.

"Did I know what my daughter said???????" :-0 :-0 :-0

OMG I don't look at the boards for a few hours and now I read this thread and have no idea why anything was RR'd!!

Referring to the Original Thread.....yes Sharron I agree unless I'm hoping for a "romp in the hay" so to speak why would I care what their likings were. Each to their own, sad to say many do have problems as for many reasons they can't live the life they want to live, and those that can go ahead and do so with our blessings.

and the RR can go and........

My post was about something Germaine Greer said - and she was lambasted for what she said!

Strange how, something you can read on the internet is RR'd on here, in case it 'offends' :-S :-S

Oh - just remembered, my quote used the word 'penis'!
Perhaps I should have said 'twinky', so as not to offend those who live in a 4 year old's world.

One day, I could regale you with what my 3 year old grand daughter said about a female dog, and her male owner.
It was only a description of their differing 'parts', but a 3 year old explaining the difference, using proper language, is hilarious, if somewhat surreal!
..but some would consider that a 3 year old shouldn't know the proper words for things.
