The thing is - you don't have to read the comments, or even reply.

If you know you're not likely to enjoy what someone's written - just don't look at the thread.
That's what I do - and I can thus ensure I'm not exasperated by a person's views/ignorance/lack of humour, and I won't offend them by my reply.

People have different senses of humour - surely that's one of the joys of being human?
It's not fair for example, for one person (the 'RR'r) to keep destroying threads just because they're not to their 'liking'. No-one forces them to look.

You say it used to be interesting, I notice you rarely comment, even on 'sensible' threads, so perhaps it may be an idea to start threads that you think would interest people of your 'ilk' - the less childish.

As one of the childish and boring right now; though I hope not up themselves; I'd like to point out that at least this keeps some of the limited movement on here.
It's harmless fun better than none at all....or I'd like to think it is.

I'm delighted with & enjoying a Christmas gift received from 'herself' who knows my appetite for reading.

'1,000 Years of Annoying the French' is the title of the book written by Stephen Clarke & highly praised by The Sunday Times.

An opening comment to give you a flavour of what is to follow: 'The French are quite right to suspect that the last 1,000 years have been one long British campaign to infuriate them. And it's not over yet'.

The things that really annoy the French about les Rosbifs are rarely mentioned in polite society but fwiw it's worth No.1 is banging on about Azincourt.

I do find it strange how people complain about the 'slow boards', boring threads etc - yet do nothing about it! :-S

Do these people also sit on their backsides watching someone else cook, eat the food - and then complain that they could do better?

Dermot posted how pleased he was with his prezzie of 1001 ways to annoy the French. The most annoying thing about the French is that they simply don't care.

For those that find nothing here to amuse or inform you are likely to have the same problem elsewhere without the uncertain protection of the RR. Simple answer start a thread of your own.
