I agree with 2 points here, Caroline describes the ugly sister as I think they were intended to be perceived by the author, they were cruel mean and spiteful had no soul to their younger stepsister who was younger therefore smaller with smaller feet. All older sisters are mean to the the youngest, I am proof of this as being the youngest of 3 sisters, big sisters are mean mean mean they do not even have to be step sisters ! For the purpose of the story the author had to make the older ( mean mean ) sisters step therefore the sisters have no emotional connection to the small petite Cinderella so to make they could be so cruel and mean to her. I am proof this does not always have to be case. ;-)

The second point is made by Island the older sisters were plain ugly as they are blokes in wigs :-D

Oooo....you can’t say they’re blokes in wigs. They’re Gender Fluid or some such :-S

Why was the Mother overdressed mutton dressed as lamb ( another bloke in a wig) :-D

Det even if the ugly sisters have made the life changing decision to wear dresses and live as a female they are still ugly blokes in wigs :-0
