Happy new year to everyone - whenever it comes. :-D

Caught up with the programmes RIVER WALKS and learned something. Belle and all those in the South East probably already know, as did my OH when I told him; the largest wetland in Europe is in London - Walthamstow. It really surprised me.

There are several RIVER WALK programmes and I think I've only missed one. A good, easily-watchable series.

Oohhh…...I have been to 'Walthamstow Wetlands' many many times but it was Ferry Lane Fisheries then and very peaceful too. We'd rarely meet more than one person save for the anglers sitting quietly staring. It was such a great place to quietly bird watch, drink hot choc and eat sarnies. I'm not sure it would be quite our thing now that it is to be a pleasure park :-(

Those programmes are worth a look Island. A break from a hectic life - gentle, beautiful scenery and informative. I am not a Johnson fan but I particularly liked the Exe River Walk with Stanley and daughter - she gave him a timely warning not to strayinto politics while they were enjoying afternoon tea!
