While at uni the college employed a flock of geese which ate the grass saving on the cost of mowing. The geese bred and laid large white eggs. These could sometimes be obtained from the proctor. One egg made a meal for 4-6 people. The taste is much stronger than hen's eggs. I liked an omelette aux fines herbes made with them.

Geese are strong ill tempered birds. I have no idea how some were relieved of their eggs but there was a population problem. Eventually elf n safety dictated the replacement of the aggressive geese by men on mowers. Shame.

Well thanks for all your great comments.. I had forgotten about hot cross buns!

Because of the climate I live in, I do wear the same clothes nearly all year round so maybe....that's why the food isn't seasonal anymore? I mean 11 degrees in winter same in summer..its all making sense.

Tell you what if they suddenly reduce the eggs to 20p or something silly, Ill buy the lot and share them out with everyone... :-D :-D

Personally I do prefer a good quality dark chocolate. Bournville was always a favourite of mine.

Happy Eggbun weekend!

Wrong Rollo, I was eating strawberries with my muesli this morning, we are in our strawberry season which finishes as Wimbledon finishes. I'm sure people in the southern hemisphere have strawberries at the moment.

When on here with contributors from round the world you can't generalise like that, you should qualify the statement by adding UK somewhere in the statement. ;-) :-D

If you want Easter eggs this year you might as well buy them now as there won't be many on sale after B-day. ;-)

I'd like a dark choccy egg, please Florence. If it comes with a mint or a ginger flavour it'll go down a treat.

Don't worry they have stock rotation. They should have hot x bins too.
Choc eggs out of season are no more illogical than strawberries in January.
Enjoy
