All sounds very intriguing......

some people in the early days were REALLY nasty .................

I was scared off posting on this Board within a couple of days of first posting back in 2004 after being accused of being someone else called Sylvia who "WAS NOT WANTED ON HERE!!!!!!"

I tried again a couple of years later, found a thread that looked interesting,it was something about Canada, and I posted. Then I was accused of being Janey Canuck under another name, and pretty vilely abused again.

I didn't post on General for several years after that. I just thought you were a lot of mean people like we were dealing with on Friends Reunited, and decided I had no need of the aggravation ..........

......... so I was driven away in those days. I kept to the genealogy boards, and knew nothing about why we were suddenly not able to access GR.

I was among the first to be invited to join FTF, but didn't actually sign up until late in 2007, and even then didn't post often, but it has been much better than GR in recent years from the point of view of good genealogy.

Never knew there had been an all-out ban for days! I too thought the boards could be negative when I first joined so just read once in a while, there seemed to be a lot of people who knew each other.
Maybe I should apply to join FTF :-)

I remember a list going round
Who people were not allowed to reply to
I found those people far more interesting than the reply to list
I replied to who I chose too

And I was proved right
Some of my very good friends were on that list :-D :-D

I remember list Joy I was not on it as I said I was very much a fence sitter, it was not argument so I stayed out it in fact at times I was terrified to even post.

I can not even remember my user name for the FTF site, it may of been the same as here at the time Wilde childe :-D now that place was extremely clichey and if you was not in with a certain crew you was ignored. So most of us decamped back here. The cliche stayed and would often post on here when WW3 was in full swing to say how they never came on here it was horrid and off to a better place which I always found rather strange. :-S

I know nothing about the 2006 events but I join in whatever takes my fancy.

There are some very nice correspondents on the boards and, as yet, no one who has yet managed to upset me into silence. There are some whose style I admire too. :-D
