That’s the same as my family Belle. My great great grandparents had 10 children and 3 survived. :-( :-(

Sadly there was no safety net to help big families. One of my ancestors and her family all ended up in the workhouse, I dont suppose it was a picnic in there.

in London in Georgian times nearly 70% of children didn't make their 5th birthday.

Children who were ill or dying were left at the roadside. That's why Thomas Coram started the Foundling Hospital in London.
