No, I don't know if the Lights are visible this far south, but I would love to see them one day.
All natural events like that fascinate me. There are some amazing photos from last night's show.

Bright, but cloudy here with just a small patch of blue sky.
Not sure that there's enough to make that sailor a pair of trousers, but it's a start ;-)

There is too much light from London for anything to be seen here :-(

Maybe take a look out tonight then, just in case I can see them, although like you, we might have too much light polution. :-|

I heard they could be seen in South Wales.

There were very clear skies last night but sadly the Moon, Venus and Jupiter are no longer in alignment.

I would love to see the Northern lights. We did try when we were in Finland but it was too cloudy.

Haven't posted on here for quite a while but I have been looking in to see how you are all doing.

My son and his wife have just come back from a week in Iceland to celebrate their Silver Wedding and got some great photos of the Northern Lights. They had a really good time and have photos of them in the hot springs with the snow falling at the same time. A lovely holiday for them but they said everything was VERY expensive.

The sun did make a brief appearance but it's gone gloomy again now :-(

Kath, I can remember going to Norway back in the 80s and it was very expensive there too. Alcohol was astronomical so much so the locals all had their own stills....thank goodness for duty free.:-D

I've seen people in those hot springs but what happens when they want to get out, it must be freezing.........brr :-0

Did they see Thor the Walrus understand he turned up in Iceland after his nap in Scarborough :-D

Sounds like they had a lovely time, seeing the Northern Lights was a bonus :-)

They certainly had a lovely time Belle. It was something different for them as they usually like somewhere hot but thought it would be something different to remember.

I must admit I didn't ask what it was like when they got out of the hot springs - but I guess you are right - brrrr.

They have a lovely photo of the pair of them on the black beach with heavy snow coming down and they had used their hands and feet to sweep out 25 from the snow in front of them. They had to do it a few times as the falling snow kept covering it up before they could take the photo. It will make a nice photo for me to frame (they don't frame photos for themselves).

They didn't mention the Walrus
