A real tear jerker last night :-(

ZZzzz

ZZzzz Report 28 Jun 2023 13:11

It was indeed, I makes we wonder what they put on paperwork with regard to place of birth, birthday etc.

I've enjoyed all these programmes but would love to know which DNA database they use as it seems to be very comprehensive. It says that Ancestry sponsor these programmes so presume it is theirs. Obviously a lot more time consuming research than they show but lovely to see people getting answers at last.

I missed the ending of last nights programme so can anyone tell me if the lady's mum was traced please?

nameslessone

nameslessone Report 29 Jun 2023 12:31

No they didn’t. The expert said they were having a lot of difficulty finding her.

Florence61

Florence61 Report 29 Jun 2023 13:15

Aw how sad for her, ty names for that.

Florence61

Florence61 Report 29 Jun 2023 13:16

Obviously the mum never had anymore children then otherwise the DNA would have shown that?

nameslessone

nameslessone Report 29 Jun 2023 13:26

Don’t forget that you can’t trace anyone through dna if no one has taken a test.

Florence61

Florence61 Report 29 Jun 2023 13:38

Yes that's true. Maybe she didn't ever want to be traced then.

nameslessone

nameslessone Report 29 Jun 2023 14:03

Not just her but none of her (the mother) but none of her relatives.

It is possible that they found her or her relatives and that they would have nothing to do with it.

ZZzzz

ZZzzz Report 29 Jun 2023 14:15

nameslessone, it is similar to me, my Mum is illegitimate and all the information I have found is through certificates etc, her mother put her in an orphanage when she was four or five and left for Australia not coming back here for her.
