How many members do you think GR have lost?

I know a lot of people who had finished their trees or who had lost interest used to renew their membership purely so they could stay on this board because they enjoyed it so much. Lately, in contrast many people who are fed up with the behaviour on this board have left GR. How many people do you think GR have lost because of this? Before anyone says it, I know GR must have made the odd few pence through duplicate membership but I don't really want to get into that debate or into the specifics why people left as I don't want to stir up old arguments. |

Hi Lesley so nice to see you. I am a lost heart...loved GR but once I am done in Jan, I am done. This was to do my tree then entertainment, sadly I can do both elsewhere in harmony with the world. I like my karma lemon and my aura pastel so i will move on but with regret as this board let me meet so many wonderful and warm people. |

Hello Lemon, lovely to catch up with you finally. It's fun people like you that GR cannot afford to lose as others follow suit. Hope you're feeling ok after your accident. Also congratulations as I hear that you've finally reached 21! keep fizzing those pips! |

I agree with BC and I think over the next few months as memberships run out a lot more will go. I am like Lemon I love this site and so I am going to stick around a while longer. Jean x. |

I don't think anyone can come up with accurate numbers, Lesley, but I'm sure it's a lot and more all the time. That said there are new people joining all the time so I doubt it makes much difference to GR either way. I stayed away from the General board for a while and looked in again recently and frankly, I'll probably stay away again and use the site for other purposes. Does that mean GR have 'lost' me? Not really, but it does mean, as there are others like me who refrain from contributing to the General Board, that the activity, content and atmosphere of the General Board are affected. If that's good or bad, it's a decision for others, not me to make! :-) |

Well, Lesley, that is approximately the amount of people who left for a better land:-) when they were driven away from here by bad behaviour and unfairness of GR. And most of those will not return. Only a few diehards (like me!) come back here because, like Lemon, so many good people posted here....I still hope it may return to something like it was. BC XX |

I have been a member for just short of three years and I have made a few good good friends and contacted many many members of both mine and my husbands family both here and over seas. I work full time and so have only about an hour a night to come on to the site. I miss a lot and only know if there has been 'trouble' when it is all over. When I first joined I found the boards - particularly this one - to be dominated by people who had been members for a long time and so I posted very very rarely....I took part in quizzes and perhaps added to threads. It is sad to see people leave but this is still a great site to contact family and this board is a good one for having a bit of fun |

I think you're probably right Paul. Like Felicity said, when you think new members are joining all the time, it's a mere drop in the ocean in comparison. Not all members use this board. We are also a mere drop in a very large ocean |
