Great Snoring and Little Snoring in Norfolk. Pratts Bottom in Kent where we lived before. Jen, if you google for the Church - you can find a nice pic of it.

Used to live near Woolfardisworthy - one of the longest names! Now live near Piddlehinton - part of the Piddle Valley. It's near Tollpuddle - think the area must be quite wet? Kaye x

A lot of my ancestors, including my maternal grandmother were born in Church - a village near Oswaldtwistle in Lancashire. Apparently Grandma Walmsley used to love telling people she was born in Church! Liz

Just having a look on internet for unusual place names - you lot got me curious - and I have just found a f*****g in Austria!!!! Oooh and a Dildo in Newfoundland! lol Can you imagine telling someone where you are going on your hols? lol Kaye x

Pratts Bottom - Kent? Loose - bet they have a WI! Great Snoring Norfolk - kids used to laugh at that when they were young Trunch - also Norfolk, cos it's such a 'woody'word My journalist friend found a village called Freeby in Lincs...

Been gone a few hours and I can see you've all been busy, some real Howlers here..................LOL. Brian love the Tye and shirt........... And the Ugly womens institute, no wonder they opted to change it. pmsl. Heard of Giggleswick Roxanne and Wetwang Victoria. Wasn't the late Richard Whitely Mayor of Wetwang once? Joe's mention of a certain place in South Yorks reminded me of an amusing sight last year In a field near the A616/A628 junction (the Flouch, if anyone knows it) there was a very large sign advertising the Penistone Show. Trouble is, when you approached the roundabout from the Manchester side, the roadsign obliterated part of the sign advertising the show. Guess what the result was... P****...... Show. I notice they haven't used that sign again this year LOL

On the drive from Dundee to St Andrews in Fife you go through a little village called Pickettillum. I was born in a village called Crookedholm which is in Ayrshire. Raven
