Hi Louise what a good thread. I originally used my proper name Dorothy Lewis but everyone had nice nicknames and felt left out awww. So now I'm Rhymney Doll cause I'm called doll or dot or dor and living in the Rhymney Valley in south Wales. That's 2 of us eh Lunar Merch Cwm Rhymney. In case any of you are wondering what it means Merch - Girl.... Cwm.....Valley....Rhymney don't know meaning but its the name of our valley where we live. Dorothy

Well I am going to upset some people now but I think all pseudonyms should be banned. I think you should either be your real name or your first or surname and the area of the country that you live in. Either that or we should all choose a name when we join and we aren't able to change it unless we apply to a 'proper' moderator. This site is so different to other ones. It should be set out different with a proper chatroom and more different sections ie puzzles and games, drinking threads, serious topics and information on different counties, immigration etc. There should be a proper expert on hand to help with family history queries. There should be a list of moderators for each section so we know who to refer to if we have a problem. Arguing and bitching should be intercepted immediately but allowing leeway for healthy debate as monitored by a 'proper' moderator. I suppose ITV are skint though to do all this. Shame because their own website is of good quality.

I understand what you are saying, Louise, but I think it is ill advised to put one's real name on here especially coupled with where one lives. I joined with this pseudonym, over two years ago, for this very reason, and have not changed it. BC
