I never put threads on becuase I dont feel anyone would want to join, however when I do for something quite serious, no one helps or people just take the mick!

Hi Keeley, I've just come back to the PC after doing some housework and have no idea what the problem is. I'm sorry if you felt ignored. What happened? Gwynne

Deanna Report 30 Sep 2005 10:48

Keeley I'm sure that can't be true. I always read threads asking for help, but I don't answer because I can't help, and feel daft aswering for the sake of it. Have people really made you feel silly? I put up a thread the other night about Scotlands People site. No one answered me either, but if they read it and it helped.... that's fine. That is why I did it, and I deleted it myself the next morning. Keep joining in . Deanna X

I'm sorry you feel like that Keeley. I reply to threads if I have something to add other than what has already been said, or if I think I can help. It doesn't mean your threads haven't been read, I used to think that too, and didn't post my own threads for ages. In terms of the total membership of GR only a small percentage of people respond to threads. Ken xx

Hi Keeley, If I had seen your thread I wouldn't have been able to answer as I don't know anything about mortgages. Are you sure people were taking the mick? Gwynne

Hi Keeley, Some times People are scared to give advice in case they are wrong. I didnt give you advice because i dont know anything about buying a house. Why do you feel they took the mick? regards June

Keeley, sweetheart, if you need advice about buying property and a mortgage, you should be looking for proper advice from people qualified to give it. Buying your first home is far too serious a project to rely on the advice of random contributors on a website, whose advice may not be relevant or accurate. If you feel you need more help, you should go to your local Citizens Advice Bureau and ask them to help you. This isn't meant to sound like a lecture, but it's commonsense advice. Best of luck. Keeley honey, did you delete your mortgage thread? the only advice I would give is to shop around for the best deal, and not take an endowment mortgage as they have been falling short on their promised figures. Ken xx

Hi Keeley, I'm afraid I didn't see your question and as it's been a long, long time since we took out a mortgage, I wouldn't know what to advise as there are more options around now. Good luck, Heather
