Is that Archibald, usually known as Arch Bishop of York? |

Christine, Nancy Boyce (Boyes) is one of mine! She was Ann, but called Nancy. I'd like to know if anyone has ecclesiastical connections to Bishop Auckland and Bishop Middleham. CB>|< |

Nell, Did your Lottie have a big hat? Did she live in Coventry? We've lost an old family photo from Edwardian times, and the only person who remembers it is an 87-year-old aunt of my husband's. She insists it's a portrait photo of 'Lottie in a big hat at Elsie's wedding'. CB >|< |

Well of course the problem is that Charley is short for Charlotte and I have found a Lottie of the right age and birthplace, but I'm not sure its her. How can I confirm it? |

Granpa Jim's almost there. It's Lemon Grass that he's looking for. He is the younger cousin, 2x removed, of Claude Jerimiah Greengrass, last known living in Yorkshire. Now retired |

Olde Crone I've just had some inspiration - what if your Suleiman was really female - Sue Layman (or possibly Lehman/Leeman/Lyman?) nell |

Thanks for the offers, folks, but I think I'll leave the Dingoes and Dingles dangling for a while longer. I'm still struggling with my own tree, let alone the intricacies of my husband's. His elderly Aunt recently told us that One-eyed Syd's name was really Charlie, so that could open up a whole new world of intrigue and mystery! We've still never got out of her why he lived in a gipsy caravan at the bottom of the garden either, nor what he did that was so terrible that he had to disappear in disgrace to Canada. No doubt all will be revealed in time. Sorry, Nell and Brenda, but the only Suleimans I've ever heard of are the Magnificent one who was a Muslim ruler in the Middle Ages, and the son of Imran and Jemima Khan. A dictionary I've got shows another spelling - Solyman, if that's of any help. CB >|< |

Olde Crone I think you need to check for Suleyman and Sulyeman as well as Suleiman. After all, husband's Jewish gt gt grandfather [this is true] was variously recorded on certs as Zusman, Zuesman, Zuseman and has been mistranscribed as - wait for it - Guzman Lusman Luisman Juseman Quesnan (!!!) Come to think of it, his dad Solomon might be your Suleiman. Did your chap sell fish? Joy Thanks for the info on Vera:-) nell |

Gooday! I thought the Australian version of the name was Dingo, not Dingle! I never realised my husband had Aboriginal rellies. I've had my suspicions about Aberrations in his family, but not Aborigines. While we're about it, has my Nancy Boyes cropped up on anyone's travels? CB >|< |

ZAK! That must be the same Zacharias who jilted Great Aunt Minnie in 1863 and sent her into a Decline. Did he have a brother named Sue Cash? |

CB Is Fanny related to Zak and Marlon Dingle? I've just had a look in the Yorkshire phone book and there are several Dingles living in a small village called Emmerdale. I'm going to the Borthwick Institute next week if you would like me to have a look in the parish registers. |

Brenda Thankyou so much for finding my Suleiman, well, I dont ACTUALLY know that he's mine, but I'll put him on my tree anyway, its too much of a coincidence for him not to be mine, and as I didnt pay for the look-up (you did) well, it doesnt really matter much does it? Olde Crone |

Surely Minnie's surname was Skurtz and Solomon's was Seale? Has anyone seen the Fanny Dingle or One-eyed Syd from my husband's tree in their travels? CB >|< |
