It was odd the way this thread came about in 2013 when I found it again and BC had just been thinking about her grandma that day ,,,,,and again today,,,,,,,spooky,,,,, ;-),,,BC has been casting again,,,,,,,

I've enjoyed reading this thread too, even thought I cannot remember posting on it.

Twice this week I have lifted the phone to ring her rushing to share my news and then stop before I dial still cant believe she isnt here :-(

here is just another tale about my Grandma,

during the day she rolled her stockings round down her ankles and had few metal curlers in her hair,,,when tea was cooking she used to spruce herself up ready for grandad coming in from work,,,,,she always made herself look nice for him, and took off her wrap round pinny,,,,,,, :-D and he always had the first serving,,,,.I loved it when he had fried bacon on a Saturday as grandma used to fry a hunk of bread in the fat for me,,,,,tasted lovely.and if I was lucky grandad gave me a mushroom or some of his bacon,,,,,,,,, :-D.

Well BC we know you have left many happy memories about you as a Grandma for your little ones,,,,,so maybe one day they too may have web slot to reveal all about you.,warts and all...... ;-) :-D :-D.

I have only ever had my mums dad and dads mum. My dads mum is in her eighties and has always been a little a cold and standoffish never one for showing her emotions. My grandad died in 1978 when my granny was only 52. I will always remember going to visit her a few years ago on her birthday and for the first time ever she said Tawny you know I love you. I will treasure that visit to see my gran. My mums dad raised my mum and her younger brother alone from when my mum was 7. We never got to see him more than two or three times a year due to the fact that he lived 300 miles away. My grandad was a very warm and caring person who never missed a chance to hug us or tell us we were loved. He was very good at woodwork and made my siblings and me a Dolls House, Ferris wheel and a Fire Engine amongst other things. He died in 2010 but I still miss him everyday.

Having just spent a week on holiday with my grandchildren and great niece and nephew. I am pleased to report that my 12 year old grand daughter calls me 'weird', and 'freak' quite a lot :-D

.......but also likes spending time with me :-D :-D :-D

Six year old grandson has had issues on how to respond to granny, but has decided 'please' and 'thank you', work well, and not commenting on the (fake) moustache is a good ploy :-D :-D
