Maz I was at the Jackson Five gig in Wembley they appeared with Junior Walker and the all stars brilliant stuff. Stevie Wonder at Wembley One of the best gigs I was at was the 1st Rainbow Jazz Funk All- dayer featuring Level 42, Shackatack The UK PLayers, Hi Tension & Mirage. 1980. OK I wasn't going to do a list but because its Rick I shall list some of my fave Reggae gigs :-))) Desmond Dekker (5 times) Pioneers (3 times), Toots and the Maytals (in 1971 and 1987 Toots on His own) all with Byron Lee & Dragonaires at Alexander Palais 1971 Hopeton Lewis, The Chosen Few, Nicky Thomas, the Aces & Greyhound at the Caribbean Festival Alexander Palais 1972 (I think?). Dandy (Livingtone) the Cimarons Hammersmith Palais 1973 Roy Shirley Club Four Aces approx 1972 or 73 Rico, Dennis Alcapone (couple of times), Dave Barker, Winston Francis, BB Seaton, Alton Ellis, Derrick Morgan (couple of times) all at the Heroes Of Kingston Concert Forum 2002 The late great Laurel Aitken 1987 Hawkins in Dublin brilliant. Max Romeo (twice but has been a bit of a disappointment) Lee Perry (3 times over the years) with the Mad Professor and the Robotics Gregory Isaacs Rainbow 1980 The Skatalites (3 times over the years) Yellowman, Ini Kamoze, Half Pint with Sly & Robbie 1986 Michael Rose with Sly & Robbie 2004 Horace Andy The Village 2004 Jimmy Cliff (twice over the years and he is still brilliant on stage). Ranking Joe, Jah Woosh, Brigadier Jerry & Kenny Knotts, Delroy Washington, Mighty Diamonds, Aswad and Matumbi. I missed Bob Marley & The Wailers at the Rainbow because me mate didn't want to go & so I cancelled :-( My biggest regret was missing the late great Dennis Brown at that Rainbow Gig that Sheila mentioned, Dennis at his best. I still have some of the Tshirts from some of those gigs lol. Pat x |

My mate's mate has over 4000 cds and writes a personal review of what he thinks for each cd and inserts it inside each cd jewel case. Dedication for you! |
