Is it generally considered that paintings of nudes by old masters such as say Reubens are superior to modern day photographs of nudes? Personally I much prefer the old masters |

Am I right in thinking that tests showed that the Mona Lisa was originally painted as a nude? I have to agree with Ann that the paintings by the old masters are much classier and superior than even the best of the modern day photographers |

perhaps that's why Mona looks a bit down in the mouth - cold probably |

Although the Masters nudes all looked very similar, they were more realistic in shape... as I said earlier... In my world anyway. :o)) |

Wasn't there a story about the Mona Lisa that she was originally painted in a white shift to signify that she had just had a baby? |

There was a Programme on TV some time ago about this subject, Photographers tried to Reproduce the old Paintings on film with Models,It turned out that they could not get anywhere near the Class, style or Sublety of the Originals.**M**. Ps. On a Personal Level, I much prefer the real thing to Photo,s or Paintings. :o)))> |

I like both, the old masters are beautiful, but some of the modern photography is excellent. |
