A Susan Forrest (with a middle name which I won't post here) married a man with the other surname mentioned by ErikaH, in Edinburgh in 1980.

She was born 1959 Edinburgh.

However, even IF that's the right person, there's no way to know her parents' names without buying a copy of her birth cert - or looking at it in Edinburgh when you go there.

IF her middle name is her mmn, that still isn't a lot of help.
The only feasible couple marrying in Scotland would have been one in Glasgow in 1959 - but having delved into those people as much as I can, back to their possible grandparents, I don't see any Ross or Simpson connection - though I don't know the bride's mmn without buying certs.
The groom was probably born in England - if so, his parents were both born in England, and their mothers were not Simpsons or Rosses.

ADDED:
Re the 1959 bride (for whom it was a second marriage):
her father was born in 1901, in Falkirk, mmn Leith.
Her mother was born in 1907 in Camlachie, mmn Wilson
Therefore nothing to do with Agnes and Andrew.

There is a Susan on GR who has Agnes Ross 1883 in her tree, but the surname isn’t Forrest………..

It would appear that the same Agnes is also in another member’s tree

Hi,
I am sorry that I am a bit sketchy regarding Susan. I contacted her regarding a Andrew Simpson, he is my tree, have done a lot of research on the Simpson family, however my relation has a sibling so they are brothers. Susan's has only given me her Great Great Grand Parents and Great Grand Parents names. I have downloaded a few certificates which verify we do have a link. I have contacted Susan through Genes, but she hasn't opened her messages. Now I am trying to contact her by letter, I have tried Electoral Roll via Genes nothing is standing out.

I am assuming she was born in Edinburgh around the 1950's, I am going into Edinburgh next week, will look at the records hopefully get some answers.

Thanks everyone for your replies.

Is Forrest her maiden name?

When and where do you think she was born?

Have you done ANY research?

Is she related to you?

No help with Susan - but in case you're interested . . . .

Agnes's death :

SIMPSON [ also listed as ROSS and MILNE ]
AGNES
90
mmn EADIE
F
1974
746 / 179
Newington

If so, this is her birth:

ROSS
AGNES
mmn EADIE
F
1883
685 / 2 / 1162
St Andrew (Edinburgh)

I don't see her first marriage, if it was in Edinburgh, but she's listed as both Ross and Milne at her marriage to Andrew Simpson in 1917.

There were a few Andrew & Agnes Simpson couples living in the Edinburgh area in 1921, but as I don't know "your" couple's ages, I don't know which might be them (if any).

There are a number of Simpson children aged 0-4 in Edinburgh in 1921 - but none of them seem to be in the same households as the Andrew/Agnes couples.

I assume by "searching" you mean you want to contact her.

Do you know where and when Susan was born?

How do you know who her g-grandparents were, if you don't know who her parents and grandparents were?

Unfortunately it's not possible to use the mother's maiden surname as a search term when looking for births later than 1854 on Scotland's People website, and therefore it's not possible to identify Agnes & Andrew's children.
I'm assuming they continued to live in Scotland.

Simpson and Ross are very common names.

Hi,
I am hoping someone can help me by finding Susan Forrest, her Great Grand Mother was Agnes Ross and married Andrew Simpson in Edinburgh, 1917, this is Agnes 2nd marriage. Unfortunately I don't have Susan's parents or Grand Parents names.
