Evelyn - your Mother & My father - just like twins - but I did find him eventually

He had a different date of birth for every marriage & every person he was with had a differnet date & year for him as well. It took us 6 trips to London to visit St Catherines house (way before the internet BMD's) to find him - he is still proving a great surprise to me. So far i have found at least 5 marriages (well 3 official ones) dread to think what i am going to find in all my searches

I really think Diane was only married once but who knows, anything is possible I guess. Nothing would surprise me anymore.

No Kathy nothing found at all even after more certs sent for and numerous SP credits and investigations into any family likely to be loosely interwoven....................Diane is still on the WANTED list.


But at the moment Evelyn is nursing her very sick husband who is having Chemo,so she is not around much.

All children of Kate and Donald Macleod of Tarbat have been accounted for as to birth ,death and marriage except Jean Annabelle Macleod 1888.

Not found on 1911 census(by me anyway)
She is old enough to have been Dianes mother but I cant find her after 1901.

At the moment I really could do with some good news, how wonderful it would be if Diane could be found.
Thank you to everyone that has put such a lot of effort in to searching for her.

We are all here for you and trying in our own way to find the answer.Don't give up hope.

Please nobody spend money on certificates or SP as I am at the register office every other week and can do look ups .I help out at my local Family History Society and am part of the research group who helps our members living too far to do their own research . As such I do some time find that I have a few minutes to do other research .

Kathy....Just to say that only English certs have been sent for...Barabels death..Which held no clues as her father was the informant and a marriage that we thought may be Jean Anabelle Macleod but was not her.

Although it gives her ,her husband Mr Fenwick,Barabel and Evelyns godmother Goddard -Fenwick and Diane all links to the same sort of area of Scotland and the West country and Channel Islands.

Jean Annabelle Macleod 1888 is the missing one here and no amount of searching has so far turned up anything after 1901 for her.

Ron had more chemo yesterday and so far so good.
The more I read this thread the more confused I become, why couldnt I have a normal family.
I wonder if Evelyn Goddard Fenwick was related to me as well as being my godmother.

Somehow, somewhere, the Fenwicks and MacLeods are linked but it is like doing a jigsaw puzzle which consists of a picture of baked beans!


I do wonder if you are named after EGF though and, as your mother was able to play the piano, I suppose it is possible that EGF was her teacher at some stage.

Yes I was named after my godmother, my fathers mother told me that.
It upset grandma as she wanted me to be called Emily
