Find Ancestors

George Tudor Hall was my great-great uncle. Born in Whitby in 1861, son of Ebenezer Hall, a primitive methodist minister, he lived in Notrhumberland in 1871 and in Glasgow in 1881. He married Kathleen Nairne (have seen the marriage record with Ebenezer's name on it), he is recorded in the 1891 Scotland census as an inmate of Perth jail, but the same census shows Catherine Hall, as wife to Head of House and living in Perth. They next show up in 1901 in Gateshead,after which I have searched Ancestry in vain. Anyone have any lead....?
George had three children, one of whom, Beatrix, born 1882, is on the 1911 Scotland census living in Glasgow with an aunt

When did they marry?

Are there children who were born before 1891, and are they on the census with that Catherine Hall?

What are you looking for after 1901 at Ancestry? Ancestry doesn't have the 1911 Scottish census, but ScotlandsPeople released it last week.

George Sr's occupation in 1901 in Gateshead was Water Man on River (Barge), so I'd say that's them in 1891.

I haven't amended the post since initial. I must confess I have five offspring. viz

Janey, hope you pick all this up. It looks as if the earlier children may, like Beatrix , have gone to live with aunts/uncles. WAS there some disgrace, was George in prison, did Catherine make a false entry on the 1891 register? We may never know, suppose

If you'd like to actually provide information like the 1901 household in Gateshead, someone might be able to help.

Without anyone else having the information you have, it's a wild goose chase.

I can't see any household in Gateshead in 1901 that looks like these people.
- edit - or any Catherine Hall in Perth in 1891 who matches what you have said.

If there were two sons named George, presumably the first one died before the second one was born ...

Is there any criminal record for Scotland. The fact is that Beatrix was living with her grandfather in 1891, at age 2, and separated from younger siblings
1891- I can find no trace of either William Tudor nor George Tudor in Scottish or English census

Have the search result, but when signed by Ebenezer Hall, its fairly certain especially when I should have typed in KATHERINE, not KATHLEEN

If you have the marriage cert then can you please say how old Katherine was when she married George and also the names of her parents
