This is an addictive hobby and it's not cheap!

We all have to buy Birth/Marriage&Death certs.
Each cert costs £7.

We have to do this untill we get back to someone thats alive in 1901. Then we can look at the 1901 census records.....where it gets cheaper......and most time freeeeeee!

So if your serious....be warned...it's VERY addictive....but fun.

Welcom to the mad house

Keep this for reference....

If you want to buy a BMD cert, heres how and here
is the addy where you can buy it online... (copy n paste the following...)

http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/

(tip)Never pay more than £7
(another tip) for a marriage, you only need
put one partners name when ordering.

If you are ordering online from the GRO,
make sure that when the form asks
"Is the full GRO reference known?"
that you tick the "yes" box.

Marriage:

Douglas A Jelley to Harris
District of Kettering
Volume 3b Page 1489

Buy that certificate and it will give you their ages and their fathers' details

I can't see a corresponding entry for a Sylvia Harris, so I'll need to see what her name really was
