Andrew , why did you delete all the work already done on this? I am fairly sure that it had the census details posted on there that would have made this search so much easier.

PS if you have copied them off can you please re post here to save time explaining who, what and where.

It doesn't take up any space on your computer memory Andrew Just GR's so might as well leave up threads, they often come in handy later on in your tree searching, like now! lol

I think you'll have to add some of the info you received Andrew, to track it all back will be a nightmare...one of those census' will have had place of birth for John on it...

this was the Quinn Cavican marriage

NOOO! lol ! please don't start a new thread...just copy and paste what you have saved to this one , If you have the census details showing John and James together it will give a basic to work from...people can look at the original then to get a grip on the question :)

Andrew it seems most likely that as john was born Ireland (a nd I can't find him on any English census with his father) that his parents were Irish and stayed there,

I had a quick look on the Free irish census 1901,it may be worth looking at that and seeing who might fit age wise?

http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/search/

Not very well up on Irish birth certs etc, so perhaps someone else can advise you on that here.

Andrew Daviid Report 20 Jun 2010 08:46

please I

have a question and want your opion and hope that you may be able

to answer it, thankyou

my gradfather was, john quinn but according to the 1905

married cretifacte i have for bridget gavican he was 30 year old,

but as above you can see on the 1911 census when he was with deila it stated his age and her age were 38

so how can they be 8 year older in 1911 and 30 year old in

1905
how can that be or is my maths wrong,(which proable is,) i

know his fathe is a james quinn, farmer,

it say that it the rank of his father,on the cerfitfate

all the rest fit enven my dad ie B .james quin in 1912

so i just wondering if i have the wong john quinn or is just a mistak on the 1911 cenesus,

everthing add up to being the right

person, even down to the same town, and aear could they

be out

that much on the age, front, in 1911

i would like any suggestion please

to make sure i have the right perosn

and thank you

Hi Andrew,
I'm getting a little confused as well!!! Are Teresa Bridget and "Delia" the same person?
You refer to a second wife. Who was the first one?
And do you have James (1912) birth certificate?

(We can be really annoying with all our questions too!!)

As for ages on the certificates-well-our ancestors didn't have to provide ID like we do so often,so a lot of it was "guesstimate".

Best,
Maureen

Maureen from the original threads re Quinn, ( i remember it because of the irish names lol) ..this marriage

Marriages Mar 1905 (>99%)

GAVICAN Teresa Bridget Bucklow 8a 303

Quinn John Bucklow 8a 303

followed by

Births Sep 1912 (>99%)

Quinn James Gavican Bucklow 8a 270

So I really am not sure about 'Delia'

There are no deaths that tie in for a Delia Quinn

MaureeninNY Report 20 Jun 2010 15:40

LOL! Rose-sometimes I wish my name were Delia.

I guess Andrew has to get a certificate of some sort. That's where I get confused again. Does he have the birth certificate for 1912??
