thanks to the good people on this site I av recieved alot of info for my Hallett tree but still cant find the parents of both John Hallett and Mary Ann Jones at 2 clarkwell street Oldham in 1882 when their son Elijah was born..I keep using up my credits lookin at the records but see the same stuff over an over again so it looks as though its as far as I can go with the HALLETS ....could be staring me in the face and I cant see for lookin...dotty

hi val...I dont know when they were born for years I thought about the 1860 then I was given a lead on Mary ann jones was told she married a a joseph lockwood 1860c had 4 children then joseph died 1877 mary then met John Hallett went on to av 2 more childre the youngest was Elijah who was my husbands granfather (the name lockwood was on grandads WW1 medal details so the info I got for joseph lockwood works in with all the research. mary was born 1843? died 1895...joseph1840..1877...its Marys & john hallets parents im lookin for ..hope you understand all this cos I dont ..dotty

John Hallett looks quite tricky, as I have found 2 living in Oldham in 1891 and 1 in 1881

1881 & 91
Is John Hallett b. circa 1834 Stalybridge
married to Elizabeth b.circa 1832
they had a son Joshua living with them in 1881

1891 John Hallet b.c 1829 Saddleworth Yorks
is living with a Mary A Ross as a boarder, Mary was 42 at this time, both were widowed.

Does family folklore give any indication re John, as if it is one of these men, they would be older fathers.
It is also cnfusing with this new possible Mary Ann, but you say there is evidence of the Lockwood name historically.
