Valerie I av printed out the info you sent about john hallett so I can study them closer,,,thank for christening details for Elijah he was born May 9th 1882... His birth certificate states that John Hallett was an IRON TURNER that seems to tie in because Elijah worked in iron before and after WW1 and so did Elijahs son Harry and his son my husband Dave Hallett ...oops I`d better get of here OR ELSE I WONT BE THE ONLY ONE WITH THE SCREAMING AB DABS?... my heads always spinning when Ive done research on this site ..but I luv it...dottyx

Valerie I av studied all info on john hallet and I am still not sure which one it is..I av the birth cert for Elijah naming John Hallett as his father and living at 2 clarkwell st oldham so av u any idea if I could look up in census could I find out about other people at that address ... this would come in handy because there are other members of the family still alive but i av not got a surname..I knew where they lived in the sixties if I could trace them to help with tree ...they might akready be using this site ...dotty

Hi Dot.
Some things never change. It all sounds plausible is Mary Ann did live in Saddleworth.
Perhaps she met him before he was married then resumed the relationship after

Here they are in 1871.
John Hallet 1835 Oldham.occ iron turner
Betty wife 1836 Oldham occ cotton weaver
John son 1857 Oldham Iron fitter
Joshua son 1862 Oldham

Change of birth place but its them.
Cant seem to find him in 1861,1851
