Find Ancestors

Hello,

I have just received a marriage certificate for Florence Moody and William Peart. On the certificate (1883) it states that William is 24 yrs (occupation Waiter) and Florence is 19. Both their father's are deceased - Florence's was James Moody - a Clerk and William's was a farmer.

The marriage took place at St Michael's church, Toxteth.

I am having difficulty in finding both William and Florence prior to their marriage as I do not know where they were born. Can anyone help me please?

Yes, that is them. William Peart disappears in 1901 and Florence appears with the children (their surnames change) with William Seymour (the lodger here in 1891) as the husband.

Thank you for the information. I see that William's father on the 1861 census is William Peart, yet on the marriage certificate, his father's name is Joseph Peart.....

I wonder if this is your William?

Mmm it could be. It would certainly fit in with the information on the marriage certificate (regarding his age). Louth is in Lincolnshire which would tie in with the information on the 1891 census.

I think you may have had the right one in 1861 - it certainly fits with William's age and place of birth. Just thought - maybe William's mother remarried?
