Find Ancestors

Hi all i have Uriah Purkiss (Mr) born c1843 Surrey and died c1884 married to Mary Whittaker c1851.
Unsure of their marriage date. One known child Annie Purkiss born c1883. Although there may be more children as Uriah may of died just a year after Annie's birth.
Any help with this would be greatfully appriciated thank you

Sorry, no luck at all for Uriah in any years, have searched just using Christian name and also just surname.

ok what are the details tania. how would i trace uriah pre the census 1881 then he was born surrey no idea of parents etc thought with the name uriah and surname purkiss maybe easy to trace?

Not everything has been transcribed but most have from 1837-1920.

I thought Uriah would be easy to trace but he isn't. The names could also be easily mistranscribed.

If you get his marriage cert that will give his father's name which may make it easier.

the death for thomas the 17 does that mean he was 17 :o)

ok i mean i dont have uriahs birth info so perhaps if we find that he may of infact been born in lincolnshire

ok thanks tania, so its quite likely this is him then? ive been trying to find a birth for him no luck yet

looking for the birth have looked under purkiss 1840 to 1855 nothing. have also looked under just perkiss and nothing

find a uriah perkis born newington though would this then not tie in with the census 1861? birth is in mar 1943 ref 4 379

there is also an uriah porkiss born glandford B wherever this is in June 1847 ref 14 378

thats the only 2 that would fit in, any idea where glandford is i did look at the images but i couldnt make out if its right spelling or not
