If the marriage index is right then it could be this one.(Could have moved out of London during the war?)

Who registered your Great Nan's death?
By 1992 the birthplace should be recorded on the certificate.
....if the informant knew that information of course.

I'm not sure. I dont have any information on her and it's starting to wind me up. my nan said the best person to ask would be her sister but i have no idea how to contact her, havent seen her for years since she lives in america

If I order the marriage certificate what info is it likely to have on it?

Ages (unless it says "full"i.e i think over 21) occupations,address,fathers names and occupations ,witnesses may be family members.

this is the offical site for certs. cost £7 using the index details.
If you get her fathers name then post on here and we may be able to find him . If you then think it may be one of the birth indexes posted you can ask for a check using fathers name. If it does't match i think they keep £3-£3.50 of the £7

I've got an order form off www.lancashirebmd.org.uk for the marriage certificate and also for charles pike (her husband's) birth certificate
