	1891 census was taken on 5 April 1891, so somebody born August 1889 would only have been 1 on census night. But 1901 is correct at 11. Do you have any of the children's marriage certs to confirm father's name?

	There are a some possible John Wood registrations in West Derby (which covers Kirkdale where the family were living in 1901)
