Issy is your disc easy to use?
I'm off to the Gwent Family History Fair in a couple of weeks & was thinking of trying to get a Carmarthenshire baptism disc (if one exists). If I manage to get one I will obviously be keen to return the favour.

Hi Claire

Yes the disc is very easy to use. The names are listed alphabeticaly and date order. Just find your name and go through the dates.

I bought mine from www.parishchest.com.

I am thinking of going to the Swansea open day on 12th July. Its easier for me to get to from London and I can stay over with my daughter in Carmarthen.

Am also thinking of getting the Glamorgan marriages disc.

Hi Issy,

Please can you do a look up for me.
This is a long shot as I have very little information.

Thomas Jenkin Evans born c1786 Carmarthen. occupation, tailor. The family name was Jenkins, the Evans added as a patronymic i.e. his father was Evan Jenkins.I am assuming he may have married c1807.

I cannot find anything listed for Thomas Jenkins - tailor. Those I have listed below give no occupation;.all are for Thomas Jenkins, with wife's name and parish where marriage took place

24/4/1806 Esther John - Meidrim

10/11/1808 Elizabeth Daniel - Llanfihangel Rhos y corn

4/10/1810 Elinor Woods - Laugherne

Hi Mrs M

There are only two entries for James and Elizabeth.

8/2/1831 James Richard - Lfa - married Elizabeth Lewis Parish - Trelech

Notice this is Richard not Richards. Sometimes the information column gives occupation, in this instance I would guess this is an abbreviation of his parish.

21/7/1832 James Richards - Wid. Llanynis Bre
married Elizabeth Eredith (1) Parish - Llandeilo Fawr

This entry shows that James Richards was a widower from Llanynis Bre and his bride was marrying for the first (1) time from the parish of Llandeilo Fawr. I am wondering if Eredith should read Meredith?
