Sylvia and Barbara

Thank you so much for all your help in solving my mystery!!

Barbara, however did you manage to find my Fullers when they were on the census under a completely different name ? Genius.

Sylvia, fancy you knowing Bracknell, it's a small world isn't it.

Hi Tracy

Tracy

It is indeed!

We will be in the UK next month, and will bestaying with those ex-Bracknell residents down in sunny Zummerset!

BTW, re how Barbara found the Gullers

....... I'm guessing that what she used was Sophia, b. 1890 +/- 2 years, place or county of birth, father's forename and mother's forename, and then just searched the list of names that resulted.

At least that is the way I would ahve done it!!

Hi girls

Yes that is exactly what I did Sylvia! Sophia was the least common name.

Glad to have been of help. I do like a mystery!

Hi Tracey
I have just picked up your various messages on Genes Reunited Trying to find. I am also looking for the Fullers since John Henry's mother was my Great Grandmother(Selina nee Dowse). I have become stuck and cannot get backwards from John Fuller(John Henrys father) He was born in Oxford and according to his marriage certificate his fathers name was Benjamin occupation gardener. I have fou nd a Benjamin (also a gardener) with a son John in the 1841 census but it gives Johns age as 11 when he would have been 17. It sounds as though we have common ancestors and I wonder whether you can shed any light on my mystery.
Kind regards
Joyce

Just a tip

ages on the 1841 are not accurate for adults, they are rounded to closest 5. So don't take the age of anyone except children as true.

Also, our ancestors often didn't know how old they were!

Did you actually check the image of the 1841 Census ................. it could simply be that the transcriber misread the 7 as a 1
