Hi,
I have received my grandads birth certificate this morning,
it list his parents as
Henry Turner (House Painter) Journeyman.
Ada Powell
and my grandad Walter Turner born 1898
his birth is registered as district Pancras, sub district Regents Park,
and there address is given as 6, Pleasant Row, (in Jan 1899)

the only thing i have been able to find is there probable marriage,
in sept 1888 Pancras.
cannot seem to find anything else or find them on the census for either 1891, 1901.
I know my grandad grew up in the kentish/camden town area.
even rung the camden archive section for an electorol look up for the above address, and it just shows there lodger John Smith.

they must be on a census somewhere.

if anybody can help would be really grateful, its giving me a headache!

many thanks
Bev

We have looked for this Walter before haven't we? but it wasn't you who posted the threads.

We were then looking for one with father Robert as Walter's marriage cert gave the name Robert.

Hi Christine,
that was my daughter who posted the thread then, while i was on holiday, and Walters marriage cert did say Robert as his father,
but his birth cert definately says Henry,
and this is definately his birth certificate as i had it checked with his date of birth,
i think Robert was meant to be Robert Tuvey who i think brought him up, after his natural father died.
as i have Robert and Ada Tuvey living with him at his address in 1920 when he married.

thanks
Bev

Yes, that was the conclusion we came to that he was probably giving the name and occupation of his stepfather.

Very strange where they were though in 1891/1901.

Seems as if you will have to get the cert to find their ages and father's names to be able to make any further progress.

Have also found a probable match in with my tree.
The gentle men i have contacted as a match, also has Henry and Ada Turner in his tree, but he has children as
Jennie Turner born 1890 at 2 Pleasant Row, High St, St ,Pancras, (note my grandad was born at no 6 Pleasant Row, as this is on his birth certificate)
Jennie is the gentlemens g grandmother,
and Rose born 1892 St Pancras
Alfred Turner born 1897 St Pancras
but he does not have my grandad Walter James Turner born 1898,,
Walters fathers (Henry) occupation was a fishmonger on his marriage certificate, but a housepainter/journeyman on Walters birth certificate.

cannot seem to find any of the above in the census with any of there parents anywhere?

This is driving me mad, so any help, no matter how small would really be appreciated.
