that is the last i see of Francis george and Rosina

have checked freebmd for marriages/deaths

in 1891 & 1901 john & Ann have sidney nurton their grandson (aged 9 & 18yrs respectively) living with them

i have no idea whether this is francis's or rosinas child

any help in tracking these two down after 1881 would be appriciated

Surely Rose would have been too young to be Sidney's (b 1882) mother? Have you found the older brother John on any census after 1881?

Here's something to think about...it's possible that although staying with grandparents at the time of the census, he actually was residing with his parents Francis and Mary.

i ws just looking at that and thinking the same

the older boy james aka hanry james is my gt grandfather i have all his info up until 1901 census, he married mary ann dibble and they went on to have & raise 10 kids

they married in 1881 so if sidney was theirs why did he live with his grandparents?

not sure about the marriage, the date would fit, i saw it and dismissed it as being the francis and mary ann that joan has posted above

henry james nurton married mary ann dibble 20th dec 1881 again stogursey

they had 10 children between 1885 and 1900

(maybe 11 if the sidney living with john & ann turns out to be theirs)

i think that might be Rosina the d/o john and ann

the dates fit ie bornc 1869 and the last record i can find for her is the 1881 census

i will have to send for the cert to prove, and hope that the informant is one of her parents

the prob i have with the marriage that AnnMC found is that there is only one francis & mary ann nurton on the 1891 and 1901 census and he is too old to be mine

plus thier son sidney is 6 in 1891, (ok they could have waited before getting married) and i cannot find an earlier marriage for francis and mary ann

I can't find any record (birth, marriage or death that fits with Francis b. abt 1866). Is it possible that he may have been a George Francis or Francis George? Your gr. grandfather was Henry James but listed as James on the census.
