Find Ancestors

Please could somebody kindly do me a 1841 census for a Thomas Bouskill and his wife Jane....i haven't the birth dates for these too but do have them for some of the children from the lan-opc
John Bouskill 1832
Jane 1833
William dies 1836
Thomas 1840
they are under the Cartmel register but i think they lived in Flookburgh Lower Holker which is now cumbria but was under the Lancashire district
there is a Ester Bouskill born 1867 but i haven't been able to tie her in yet....maybe a possible mother of Thomas senior?
Bouskill on the lan-opc is spelt Bouskill and Bowskill for this family

many thanks for the two census's this is great...i now have the ages of Thomas and Jane....and yes your right Ester bit doesn't make sense...sorry my fault 100 years out...she died in 1851 age 84 so she would have been born 1767 ish

Hi Sylvia, many thanks...sorry about Esters birth being 100 years out....
Tiavardale is somewhere i have never heard of...at first i wonder if it was a bad mistranscript of Silverdale which isn't far away from Flookburgh over the bay if he was a fisherman

Hi Sylvia...could i ask if the Thomas Bouskill age 8 was esters Grandson as on the lan-opc there is a Thomas born 1832 to a Elizabeth Bouskill (unmarried i believe)

it's possible!!

The 1841 does not give relationships between people living in the same house, nor do they say the marital status ..... so it's a matter of guesswork.

My best guess would be that Esther is the mother of Robert age 45 (fisherman), and that John and Thomas are her grandsons ....... but are they the sons of Robert?

Many many thanks.....Warton is very close to Silverdale where i was assuming "Tiavardale" might be mistaken for...this looks very good!!

I re-checked the image on the 1851 Census ........ his birthplace is SILVERDALE

Hi Sylvia, Warton is pobably about twenty miles by road from Cartmel, Flookburgh, but Flookburgh is on the bay and a fishing village and Arnside, Silverdale are a short distance across the bay, back in those days they walked across the bay to morecambe Silverdale etc

Husband's family come from the Kendal area ............. but his father was born in Heversham and lived in a house with a view of the bay!
