the romford connection looks promising. i'd be inclined to send for Brian J Day's birth cert to see who his parents were. I know £7 maybe expensive but it wouold give a lead. |

Yes Mel I realize it was the wrong details. If the death was found then the Mum's age would show and then we would know when she was born. Irene |

Hi Irene, Just spoke to Penny she is quite sure she was only about 2 when her mother died. She was born Aug 1944 so the death of her mother could be late 1945 till 1947? |

Rose I think your friend needs to get in touch with Barnardos at Ilford and ask for a copy of her admission form. I got a copy of my grandfathers and it was very detailed and gave all the information on his parents and siblings and why he was admitted. |

im wondering if Brian J Day was a Brian John Day hence your friend remembering a John and with Suzanne finding Roger A Day i wonder if this could be Roger Alfred Day hence the Aldred. Do you think there could be a little confusion over the names? |

Hi Debdob, How fascinating, yes there can be confusion over names as we know when trying to trace back and someone changed their christian name, if they only knew all the trouble they cause us! |
