WOW!! You are all absolute stars! Sorry, it looked like I had just left this thread. My small grandaughter came over to stay just as I had posted, so didn't get a chance to get online again till now. You have all been working so hard, so thank you all!!! I was not sure if I could tie them together with their relevant families but you have really helped. Sam Thomas iRichardson is yet another problem. Since I can only find him in 1901 its difficult to find his family either. I have him born to Thomas Richardson, a machinist and Frances Ashley, born on 21st Jan 1864 In Oldham. He is mistranscribed in their family census entries, as either James F or John F, or at least I think so! What does anyone think?
Best wishes, Debbie

You're quite right though, when I first looked, I couldn't see any replies, then somehow ( I don't know what I pressed ) they all appeared! Also, how do I put the census transcription details on here without typing it all?
regards Debbie.

Deborah Report 22 Mar 2009 11:04

Yes, he was a machinist, deceased. On the Lancashire BMD site, it gives the mothers maiden name. I think James S might actually be Sumner Stratton Richardson, and John F could be Sam Thomas. Not very easy is it?

Battenburg Report 22 Mar 2009 11:52

Vera.

That sounds too complicated for me

FannyByGaslight

FannyByGaslight Report 22 Mar 2009 11:57

It took me 6 months to learn how to do it the way Vera has explained,so your not slow quinsgran,i am.
then my edit button disappeared for some reason ,aarghh ,so someone told me how to do it another way as i couldnt get it back for some reason.

highlight what you want in blue as vera says

than hold down both the Ctrl key and the c at the same time, fairly quickly and then let go of them just as quick.

click on where you want to put what you have highlighted and press

Ctrl and the v key together

and it should work that way too.
so come on quinsgran and deb
have a go now .

it was me being thick that took me so long
it really is easy that way

i wrote it all out and followed the instructions that way in the end.
someone on here told me how as well ,so this site helps you find out more than just FH,computer lessons thrown in too.
