Find Ancestors

I have found in 1861 & 1871 census a John Brooks ca 1787/88. As I dont have full census access I am unable to see who else is in the household to try and confirm if this is my ancestor.

Would really appreciate details of the full household in both census.
In 1861 the address is: Fountain St, Leek and John is Head
In 1871 the address is: 31 Fountain St, Leek

If somebody could look up this info for me it would really appreciated.

Thanks for your efforts Dea - I'm still not sure as I was led to believe that my John was married to a Millicent Cope!
It could be the right John who remarried but I think I'm going to have to try and find some other info from somewhere to try and prove one way or another!

If your John married Millicent Cope in 1823 then this was was still married to Jane in that year.

Girls I'm sorry I had to leave the other day and havent had chance to answer your questions! Hopefully you are still around to have a look at this.
Another member has John Brooks (ca1823) married to Hannah Beard as do I. It was the member that gave me the information that John Brooks (ca 1800) is the father of John Brooks (1823) and the mother is a Millicent Cope. In turn Millicents parents are John Cope & Margaret Roe.
I was trying to find some history on where John & Millicent married, lived etc in the hope of finding further siblings to John (1823).
It looks therefore, that I may have found the wrong John initially if he is with Jane.
Can anyone find my John??

Sorry Mel, last posts crossed! Wonder if there was 2 Johns??? So the John/Jane marriage could apply if both survived - strange tho!

They are different dates for both John's otherwise I would have thought it was a transcription error. They are the only ones that come up and when I look on Ancestry I don't get a Millicent Brooks at all. Only one who would be too old.

Forgot to say they were living at Dirty Gutter and next door at Green Gutter was a Thomas Cope and his family.

It gets really confusing as Martha Bloor was previously Beard (nee Stubbs). Hannah's father was Thomas Beard - now there are Beards all over the area! I have 2 Herbert Beards ca 1863 & 1865 - trying to find who goes where and with whom is proving another nightmare - somewhere along the line I think cousins married cousins! They are living at Dirty Gutter, Bottom House, Low House, Low Top!! But thats another subject entirely!

The John Brooks here as you say is ca 1823, but I havent been able to find anything for John & Millicent! The John&Jane scenario could be linked in but its difficult to decipher with my limited access as this thread has proved!

It's all over the place and I'm trying to get it all in order!
