Penny

Penny Report 25 Apr 2009 22:52

Because we were saying ''No thats not right'' and you kept telling us you were sure it was!

Of all the macdonald in lancashire , you choose the one called Ella! There are only 4- thank god his mothers name was Ella not Jane or Mary.

if you dont want to get peoples backs up, listen to what they are saying - we were trying to help you, believe it or not.

look im just excited to be getting some info at last, its very frustrating not to be able to do it my self, ive thought for all this time that she came from scotland, ive she was born in liverpool and lived in wavertree rd that would make so much sence,i dont know if you know liverpool at all?but i was born in wavertree rd,my grandfather lived with his adopted family in wavertree rd and my mum and her sister(his daughters)were brought up in wavertree rd,so it makes sence,i said earlier on that i think that ive been barking up the wrong tree, barkng up the wrong tree has cost me a lot of money, its a shock to find who i think is my family in liverpool and not scotland.thank you to everyone who has helped.

Penny

Penny Report 25 Apr 2009 23:14

Be excited by all means, but listen too.

Suzanne

I have read through this whole thread, and while I regret that you feel the way you do ...... I do see why Minnie and Ricochet got so exasperated.

You were telling them how wrong they were with what they were finding, while insisting that what you knew was correct.

I also wonder if you realise just how expensive looking up information on the 1911 can be.

Yes, it is free to do an initial search, but if you want to know any more than is found in that initial search it costs 10 credits to look at the transcript and 30 credits to look at the actual census image ......... and 60 credits cost £6.95

THAT is the reason why no-one is offering to do searches on the 1911 .... we can barely afford to do it for ourselves let alone others.

Then you kept telling them they were wrong, because you were making assumptions to fit your "facts"??????????????

BTW ..... I also know Liverpool, even though I now live in Canada ....... and I found that a very condescending remark!

see how something might come over when you can't see body language?

I regret that you feel you were badly treated, and that you feel that you will not ask for help on the baords again.

Just in case you are interested, it looks like Ella MARRIED in 1916, maybe that is why she gave him away.
In the same year she had her grooms Daughter. so he has a half sister
look it up on freebmd, or Ancestry.

BTW
Wouldnt you get exasperated if someone kept teling you you were wrong, when you are doing your best to help them & get them onto the right track?

you made statements like

''minnie,go back to page one,you said IN THE SAME HOUSEHOLD AS ISABELLA HOPE MCDONALD were annie macdonald age 26,
isabella mcdonad age 46 did you not,so there where two isabella mcdonalds in the house, one was 13 and one was 46 am i right''

no I didn't.- no you are NOT right!
I should have wasted £6.95?
Should I have left you up the wrong tree? - not in my nature, sorry.

So here you sit, all hard done by, when actually you are not hard done by at all. We got you on the right track, after as you say ''spent 100's of pounds'' going up the wrong one.

You are not going to come back & ask again because you ar all hurt. YOU ARE HURT? I wouldnt be hurt - I'd be excedingly gratefull

Suzanne

Suzanne Report 26 Apr 2009 10:01

i am gratefull, ive told you that through the whole thread, ive thanked you and thanked you.what else am i ment to do?
