Had another think on this one.

Do you actually have any birth certs that give the name of mother as Mary A Nelson?

The 1849 marriage in Richmond is the most likely one and not the one in Sculcoates - so she could be Mary A Horton.

East Hope (Hope), Dalton, Kirkby Hill are all in the area of Barningham so why did they marry in Sculcoates.

Glitter ..no offence,,but she cannot be 24 in 1851 and 25 in 1861..I know ages were inaccurate....but not by that much........These are two different families.

sorry to be so much, trouble at present I have no Marriage certs for Thomas and Mary.
Thomas was born 1826 at kirby hill son of Jacob Henderson 1796 and Ann Woodward 1794 most of the Hendersons were born in and around east layton, dale ton kirby hill areas.
I can't understand why they married in Hull, unless she was born there or her parents lived there. The 1861 census is the one I have. I must sayit is most confusing to me too. when two places are given as places of birth makes it even more of a confusion. so the first thing I must do is to find their birth or marriage certs.

hope I have not put you both to too much trouble.

Thank you so much and I will research the data you have given me.

Many Thanks
Dee

Derek

No offence taken. But the age was probably given wrong to the enumerator.
