Christine, It seams I didnt make my self clear .
The Jaques moved up to Charlton From Deptford and Rotherhithe, in 1850s
When at Deptford they lived at Sayers Court Brunswick square,
and it that Sayer Cour that was leased to John Evelyne by his Father in law and then when the Tzar loaned it he made a mess. to commemorate that the new flats on the River have the Statue of Fred the Great,
I dont think there is any thing left of Sayers Court
If there was any thing in the 20th century it would have been obliterated by the ww2 bombing, The area is a turning off of Creek Rd Deptford called Watergate Street, That is the address on Martha Matilda's Baptism entry in St Paul's Church records, Deptford Hope I made it a bit clearer, Brenda .

Sorry Brenda
I do home visits all over SE london and frequently in Deptford. I was thinking I had not come across the statue before so thought I would look out for it. If I understand you correctly that is still there?

The Statue I saw of Fred the Great was from a boat on the Thames. I really do not know where exactly it is but I will have a try with the Lewisham Local History site. the Ato Z has a good map of the area. if you have an up to date one who knows what might show up.
Will get back to you. Brenda
