Think the information Vivienne found was correct. Alexander's occupation on the 1901 census is a Painter. |

If you are still searching for Alexander's marriage to Ellen, have you tried using Helen for the spouse name or even Nell or Nellie as these are all names used by someone with the given name Helen? Often on marriage certificates women use the names that they are known by rather than their "proper" name and also the other way round. |
