My grandfather sisters & mother were deserted by father (also Frank Eade) in 1880 and spent years in the Leavesden Institute. I supect father fled the country and have traced him on a sailing census of 1880, his name and right year from Southampton to Sydney. I can't prove his age but wife was born 1846 so I have tried around that year and although I have found a record I can't get the info. I am stumped. Any ideas you bright ones. Claire

Does anyone know where Leavesden Institute is please?

EDIT

A google search is only finding Leavesden Lunatic Asylum near Abbots Langley Herts. That can't be the one because all the inmates listed there in the 1881 census appear to be lunatics. And there are no Eades there at that time.

From Lilian

I have absolutley no knowledge of Frank snr 's background only learnt of his existence when I obtained Frank Jnr & Clara Larwood marriage certificate but since then i have learnt he ditched them and ran off.

I have sisters for Frank jnr only, and have partially taced them.
Sorry wans't on line didn't expect such a quick come back.
Your NSW looks interesting I am clutching at straws but will see where it takes me. Claire

From Lilian

Frank Eade Snr married Elizabeth . hade Frank jnr c1843, Daisy c 1877 & Sarah c 1879.
Daisy was taken into the Uncles home in Norfolk when she was about 14 He was Edward Peck or Peak according to records but a stone marble mason on all.
I checked back prior to child being with them i and in the 1861 census he had an Elizabeth Parlett (14 ) sister-in-law living there with his wife Sarah Ann.
I wonder if she is Franks bride to be.
Sarah whent to an aunt but dissappears.
A conundrum. Claire

Lilian

I am just thinking -as you don't know Frank Seniors age.
Do you have Frank junior's birth certificate? Or any of his siblings?
What other references do you have to the father's name other than Frank juniors marriage certificate?
