Hi all,
I hope someone can help, I have looked at all the sites recommended here, and cant find any concrete details (after the baptism at St Mary the Virgin, Blackburn, Lancashire, England ) of:
Hannah Bibby b1831 Daughter of John (b1803-d1852) and Betty(b1807-d1869 nee Saterthwaite, amongst various spellings!).
Any marriages I have found don't seem to tally in the 1871 Census, and I can't find any death details either.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you
Gina and Dafydd

Where?

Sam

Sam Report 25 Nov 2009 23:42

Do you know who she married? You won't find a death unless you know her married name.

Gina Report 25 Nov 2009 23:49

no, i have checked up on about 4 or 5 different possibilities all the way up to the 1890s, but the just dont check out when looking at the subsequent census

Well that's a whole different family from the one I had in 1841!

Gina, maybe you would let us know who her siblings were and whether you have her/them in 1841, 1851 ... and provide the census info here?

Gina you say she is baptised 1831. Could that child have died? And a second Hannah born 1833? Hannah, Annie, Ann, Nancy, Nanny - all the same up in Lancashire, I've got dozens of them. And baptised at St Mary the Virgin too.

So Nancy in 1851 found by David could be Hannah, Thomas and Henery having left home. Wonder where dad was in 1841? Perhaps not married then.

If the Elizabth in 1841 weren't married, she wouldn't likely be married and Bibby in 1851. ;)

It would be very useful if Gina would tell us what she does know about her Hannah and the family.

-- Oops, crossed in the post.

So it is the 1851 household in the post above.

Do you have that household in 1841?

Gina

Gina Report 26 Nov 2009 00:19

Its possible the child died, but i cant find her on teh freeBMD or on the lancashire records at http://www.lan-opc.org.uk

Madmeg

Madmeg Report 26 Nov 2009 00:20

Yeah that looks reasonable. Check out the other kids for the same christening place on familyhistory or lan-opc (which you've clearly used). No, Janey, it could be the same family in 1841 and 1851. with an age tweak and father missing. We shall see...

JaneyCanuck

JaneyCanuck Report 26 Nov 2009 00:21

I don't know about Lancashire records, but it would not be unusual for a young child's death not to be registered in the early days of registration.

In case you missed my post/edit on the previous page -- do you have the household in 1841???

JaneyCanuck

JaneyCanuck Report 26 Nov 2009 00:22

Meg, my 1841 household had no Sarah or George, both of whom would have been born by 1841 ...

JaneyCanuck

JaneyCanuck Report 26 Nov 2009 00:25

Could this possibly be the household in 1841 in Blackburn?
