You would think that it would not be hard to find my great great grandfather with such and unusual name but I can only find him in the 1901 census. At that time he was living with his daughter (my great grandmother) and her two daughters (one my grandmother). Other than 1901 I cannot find anything about either of them. My granmother was born in 1894 so she wouldn't be in earlier ones. Has anyone any ideas what I am doing wrong. I am very new to this game Thanks for any help. |

OMG such info. I am obviously doing something wrong. I do know he was born in 1836 and lived in Dukinfield etc. I am very interested to find out where all this info was found. There seems to be some differences. My great grandmother was called Margaret Ann however I thought his wife was called Lydia not Lavinia. Also what are all the numbers (RG, Folio) so much to learn so little time.......... |

Could he have married Lavinia after death of Lydia? |

Okay getting loads of info now, will be able to look properly tonight. One thought though, could be great great grandfather Israel was married to Lydia and son Israel was married to Lavinia. Still can't figure out how you got all this in such a short time, I must be looking in the wrong places coupled with inexperience. |

The 1901 census is transcribed wrong as the Mary Ann is his daighter but her surname is Gee and so are the children Eva and Alice? Gee. Mary Ann Gee is a widow too. |

I should think this is the Christening of Israel 1836 as his daughters marriage comes under Lancashire/Cheshire and he had a son Matthew. |
