Apologies for not replying sooner, just got the message early am today and have been at work since then. Good news is we have found the Margaret Ewen with your fantastic help and two people now in their 70s are being reunited by phone as we speak. Can't tell you how excited we all are. Very many thanks to all who posted replies to my thread.

You were busy calling the number I gave you and having a telephone reunion!

Got your PM, and you are most welcome, and best wishes to all of you.

I still wish I understood what you got up to, PollyPoppet ...

It really can help to know the kind of info that was found/sent, even just as a tip for future searching.

Ah - nope, she was the doppelganger. ;)

It was very lucky Margaret had all those middle names - that's what found the marriage and births to tie to the surname for Gillian!

Sorry to say, PollyPoppet, not "also". ;)

Elizabeth's lovely PM:

Thank you so much for the information you have provided Janey. You had exactly the right person and I spoke to [Margaret's daughter]'s husband, Margaret's son in law this morning before I went to work. We have now confirmed all and a brother and half sister are being put in touch with one another by phone this evening, Margaret in Essex and [Margaret's brother] [in Arbroath, East Scotland. [Margaret's brother]has not seen her since she was 2 or 3 years old and Margaret was so young she didn't know if she even had any siblings. It's a great outcome - thank you again for all you've done, it is most appreciated.

The trick really was in all those middle names of Margaret's!

PollyPoppet you have made my head spin!!

I have just figured out that you're Wendy - and this is what your own lovely PM was about!

All along I had had no idea that this was *your* family!! I thought you were just popping in to help out like the rest of us. And then I didn't know who this Wendy was who sent me the lovely PM ... with no names in it. ;)

Well this is double great, then! And further proof of genealogy karma -- you hang around here helping other people out long enough, and somebody will do it for you.

You and Elizabeth have found your family members, and I'm all sorted. Phew.
