Really just to add that no mention is made above of the origins of John Fearon's wife, Mary Elizabeth. The 1911 census suggest that they were married in 1890.

The other point about the 1911 census is that an Ellen Hall also appears. She is recorded as having been born in Salford in 1842. She is also described as the mother in law of John Fearon. Given that this is the case, then Mary Elizabeth's maiden name would have been Hall.

However, I can't find any link between Mary Elizabeth and this Ellen.

Has anyone gone down this route before me and found some success.
