Find Ancestors

Looking for mother of Cyril Henry Clark, he was born feb 1898 died in chelmsford 1981. Marriage certificate states his father as Henry William Clark and occupation carman for both. Think i found Birth index for Cyril Henry Born in Blaby,Leicester,want to get his birth certificate but hit brick wall on father and mother, on the cencus they seem to use middle names which confuse me.

Well the nearest one I can find for that one in 1901 is Henry Clark with father William but he's a shoe clicker lol:)

That one would be about a year out but then ages / birthdates on death certificates are only as good as the informants knowledge.

We need Susan to come back and help us out here!

It would be useful to know where he married and to whom.

Also, Susan you say that they use middle names on census. Can you post the census information that you have please?

Maybe he wasn't born a Clark- Clark could be a stepfather's surname as there is no obvious birth appearing.

Sorry took to long to reply had a problem with the washing machine, didn,t think about Clarke with a E I'll have another look and see. Can not get any further untill i find him and parents cheers.

I assume that you are positive that the death you have is the right Cyril Henry Clark?
Perhaps it would be better to tell us what the earliest thing is that you are absolutely certain of.

Couldn,t find my cencus, but Cyril Henry Clark Married Olive Gertrude Punt In August 1923 In Prittlewell Essex, last known area they were living in Ramsden Heath area.

So I imagine this is her death ?

Was she 22 on the marriage cert? and how old was Cyril on the cert please?

Death index Dec 1981 chelmsford vol 9 pg 1775. also Olive Gertrude Mar 1974 chelmsford vol 4a pg 1659. But still can not find him on cencus.

Marriage certificate states cyril was 24 and olive was 22, and yes that is her death .
