ann bamford, mother in law is that williams m in law or anns?

Usually the relationship given is to that of the Head of the Household - so Ann Bamford should be the mother of Ann, William's wife - ie William's mother-in-law.


There is a marriage for an Ann Bamford to a William Entwistle but not until 1855 - a couple of years after the year of birth of the oldest child on the 1871.

do you have names for the other sons please?

looking at lan-opc there are many Ellen Entwistles. There are baptisms at Lower Darwen for children of Ellen (formerly Fish) Ellen formerly Cooper, Ellen formerly Holden - and those were just the ones I looked at!

also remembering that ages in the 1841 were not exact as they were rounded down to the nearest 5

Hi ann. She was Ellen Shaw (1792) & married Ralph Entwistle (1792?) in 1815in Blackburn. There were five sons Edmund, John Shaw & William. Edmund was the eldest & william was the youngest & i dont know who the other two were.

I can only do a name search, but found a Ralph, Ellen, Peter & a William all listed as living in Blackburn, Darwen - whether they are all the same household I cannot look at
