Hi , have just come home to find the certificate for Emily's birth has arrived.

She was the daughter of Frederick Mundy and Rose Brain. They are living/ working at Kimberworth Park Farm Rotherham in 1908. Frederick is described as an agricultural labourer.

Thanks to everyone who has contributed so far. I am now going to see if I can uncover any more leads. It would seem that the theory of Rose dying in labour in1911 is probably accurate. As with many other families it also seems that names get recycled. What this hasn't proven is whether this Frederick Mundy is my gg uncle or another Mundy cousin ??

Of course by 1911 Frederick may well have moved away from Rotherham although I think Rose's death appears in that area on Bmd.

Does anyone know how to find Kimberworth Park farm on a census without the name of someone who may lived there?. No sign of correct Frederick on 1911 at the moment.

Thanks again if anyone can help
Best wishes
Vanessa

You can search on Findmypast with an address.

I presume this includes the 1911 census and it's free during the England World Cup football matches so maybe you could look then.

You just have to register.

And if you feel like flinging money around, the Mundy-Brain marriage certificate will tell you who Frederick's father was and how old Frederick was at the time. ;)

I'm thinking we should all amaze and delight our male partners and family members by emailing them to ask for the England game schedule, no reason stated. I'm going to!

The 1881 only is searchable by address at Ancestry.

In 1881 it has only one result for a search for
Kimberworth farm

Samuel and Maria Grainger and children, and Maria's parents Thomas and Elizabeth Smart, at Kimberworth Rd Ferham Farm. (There are also a Ferham House and a Ferham Cottage on the page, no Mundys.)

Thanks Janey , I thought when I was writing before that of course the marriage cert would be the answer to my query. I am going to play around with this over the weekend but may well resort to shelling out yet more money !!

Will try to locate Kimberworth Park farm somehow . On first couple of attempts Kimberworth also appears to be an area or parish of Rotherham/Sheffield .

Thanks again

Vanessa

P.s The Mundys were in Whitnash Warks in 1881 and Frederick was in Pudsey, Yorkshire in 1891 so no links to the area as far as I am aware until then.
