How many 'male' members of GR with the surname Revill have their hair parting on the right hand side of the head which I understand is common in France, Rather than men with the surname Revill who have their parting on the left hand side of their head (English side) Any replies from GR members with the surname Revill please say which side your parting is, or was on. A simple survey would be interesting. Ian Revill

to be honest Ian the chances of a Revill on GR seeing this posting is quite remote - I may be wrong but..........

your best course of action is t use the Search Trees tab to find connections on this site

Where do the ones with a center parting dwell ? mid-channel?

Why only the men?

Well... the females may be 'married in'.

When I was little, my mother parted my hair on one side, because that was ' the girls' side ' . My sister's was the same.
Our brother had his hair parted on the other side, so in our case it had nothing to do with natural ways of the hair.

If people have other inherited traits, why not hair partings?

Ah, I meant the women originally named Revill - the daughters and/or sisters of the men with significant hairstyles ... !

What a silly thread!
Gwyn, I wonder which side was "the girl's side" according to your mother?

Margaret

I think my parting was on my right hand side
I'll have to check early photos........

Mop of curls eh? No wonder we can't see the join ! :)

OH has a parting in the middle....it's about 7 inches wide.

I have this mental image of Ian sending messages to all those with this name on this site asking how they part their hair! Not sure I would reply if I got that sort of message to be honest.

Oh well........Cx
