helena is my grandma and james muphy is my great grandad so it does not show his age as the father of the bride on the marrage cert sorry if ive confused you chris

You're welcome.

I put York Street, Cork in google - one of the first sites had a property to let at 5 York Street, Cork! and another stated York Street is off McCurtain Street, Cork City Centre.

Happy hunting :-)

Christine...You will not find McCurtain St. on the Census...You need to be looking at King St. (re-named McCurtain St).

Christine

Christine Report 25 Aug 2010 23:19

Christine...The info.re McCurtain St.was only to alert you if you needed to use it for a point of reference..
Are you saying you cannot find York Street or you cant find "Murphy" living on York Street ?
Is it the Irish Census you are refering to when you say you have looked on the Irish web site...because there definately is a Donal/Dominic Murphy lodging at No.5.

Christine...If the family Liam has located for you (1911) then that family is at 10.1 Pembroke Street on the 1901 Census...also living there is Ellen O'Callaghan (mother-in-law) so if it is the correct family you now have Mary Ann's family name to work with...
